Dash And Tailgate Emblem Mod

A friend told me you could heat up the grille and tailgate bow tie and remove the gold part and there is chrome under it.

You could try it on the rear emblem and if it doesn't work, you can always just remove it like most of us have. Worth a shot. We'll be waiting for your followup post.

hmm...I've never heard of this but I highly doubt it. I took off my front emblem, put a billet one on, and then did not really like it. So, I decided to sand down the original one and paint it black to match the truck. In the process I did not see any chrome underneath or anything to suggest the gold was some sort of sticker or something.

 

I also bought a billet aluminum tailgate emblem that is 100% brand new and available for sale for anyone interested. I like the de-badged look better (except those kick a$$ silverado letters on the tailgate and sides). So, matching tailgate and front grill billet emblems....about to be put in the for sale section.

I suppose there could be chromed plastic underneath it, but it certainly wouldn't be actual chrome.

I know the gold can be peeled on Tahoes,Burbs,TBlazer.etc rear emblem.Cleans up really nice .But the rear emblem,which I removed, on my NBS pickup and the one on my wife's TB are made differently.
