anybody had one of these apart. I know last time i had to replace the whole thing wich at list price was like $300,...you guys think i can get that bulb out and just replace the bulb..

I think the HVAC bulbs for you year truck are soldered to the HVAC circuit boards just like my year Sierra (99-02). I replaced all of my bulbs with LEDs and I think I read on this forum somewhere that someone took apart the 2003-2006 HVAC controller and replaced the bulbs with LEDs as well. I know with that post they had plenty of pics so that might help you see what it looks like apart. The reason I replaced mine with LEDs is the price GM quoted me for a new controller. I also bought one from eBay (trying to save $$) but most of the bulbs were burned out in that one as well so that forced me to make the decision to go the LED route.

thanks, i had just went to a local repair shop that does radio repair they had told me the same thing, the units use this circut board and they go bad causing the light not to turn off or on. I will search for that post though...
