Whats For Easter Dinner?

I asked my wife what we were having for Easter dinner, like it was gonna change from any other year, and she said ham. My grand parents and parents always had ham and my in-laws also. But I have freinds that have turkey and have heard of people having lamb. So whats gonna be on your table?

Oh and Chris I like the GMC but there is something about your Silverado that makes me want one exactly like but I don't know what it is.

We had brisket some, ham, turkey, etc. I think the best was the brisket though. Not sure about this year.

haha thanks, im kinda the same way actually! i really like the gmc looks, but ...there is just something about the gmt900 silv's that i like wayy more than the gmc's.

It's interesting just reading through and noticing the parts of the country and the dishes served. Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, family reunions. In Dixie it is something special.

 

Today I attended the funeral of a dear friend. It is custom in the South (notice cap) and maybe other places (I've only gone to Southern funerals,) that the ladies in the church would prepare dishes and bring them to the church for the family and out-of-towners. It is generally the signature dishes that these sweet angels are known for.

 

After the service we meandered to the fellowship hall and there was the spread, 3 large tables end-to-end covered with love including smoked ham, turkey, chicken and dumplings, dressing, field peas, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, squash casserole, sweet potato soufflé', corn bread, and sweet tea. Cakes and pies of every description: carrot cake, hummingbird cake, sweet potato pie, apple betty, caramel cake and others. This was just what was needed for saddened family and friends.

 

I love the South.
