New Wheels, Now More Problems

Ok today i got my helo wheels on, took forever to get them on, so i leave the service station and go to hit the brake and dang, you would think the truck is going to fall apart i mean it jerks hard, the whole truck vibrates, so i go back later because i had to do some stuff. So he says he has never heard of any thing like that, it rides fine going down the road, so i would think the wheels lined up pretty good. So he tells me to check and see if the brakes are touching, me and my grandpa jack the front up and hell you couldnt hardly even move the dang tire when it was free, and both sides where like that. I noticed that on the front right there was a groove in the rotor, has any body had that happen yet.

Sounds like your pads are rubbing on the rotor. I had that problem a few weeks ago with my front calipers not releasing and after a few days the heat destroyed most of the front end. It cost me $2,500 dollars to replace both hub assemblies, calipers, and rotors on the front. If your rotor is pitted, then it should probably be replaced. If it's that hard to move your wheels now, then things could get worse and you're definitely building up more heat than necessary around your brakes every time you drive. I would recommend putting your old rims and tires back on and making sure that they will freely (and easily) spin before you drive your truck again. You need to check the backspacing on your rims and see if they offer enough for your setup. Just as a warning: driving with your brakes in that condition isn't safe. I had my truck towed to the auto shop when my brakes wouldn't release and I was told that if I had tried to drive to the shop, I would not have made it. Just be careful.

I pulled the wheels off this morning and it showed no contact on the wheels, the brakes didnt seem touching the rotors, and the rotors didnt seemed wraped...so me and dad put them back on, and went down the road and it seemed better. He said the guy may have been in a hurry to getting them put on and the werent lined up right, and that going a bigger tire and more aggressive didnt help it either.

This is certainly NOT NORMAL and not something to just let go. You need to find out exactly what is wrong. Without good clear pics here we can't really help. It isn't safe to just let it go. Wheels don't just "not turn" one day and then get better the next.

Well iam definitly going to another guy tomorrow, because i have to get it fix after getting the keys cranked and he said he wanted me to wait till i got my wheels, he didnt have time to get them put on for me the other day, so i went up the road. Would you think its because of the wheels not be on just right, i didnt use any hub rings, i got a hub bore of an 108 on the wheels, the guy i order them from said they wasnt but a 1/3'' diff in them, but when i called a guy at xd wheels he said the hub bore would be an 87 or such.

The fact that your wheel wouldn't turn when lifted off of the ground is a potential real problem. I'd sure get it checked out before doing much driving just to be safe.

Good luck man.

I mean it would turn but dang, iam not a weak little ****er either and it was hard to turn nothing like i has seen before. But i swear the more i mess with this truck the more shit gives, well have you heard of lug centric wheels? The salesman said thats what the wheels were so the lugs fit deep into the wheel to get it centered and no hub ring was needed. The guy at the gm place told me the same that it was my choice to use them but didnt need them.

Well my buddy told me today that the guy had put the wheels on to much with the air wrench, he had warped my rotors slightly so he shaved them off and got the straight again, also in that time the brakes a wore different cuz of that so i got to take it easy on the brakes. Hopefully now ever thing is going to be ok.

NO luck with that. I guess were the old man had it before me messed up the rotors cuz that wasnt it, but they were bad. So here i am at square one and all it is, is a dang washer behind or that goes on over the hub wasnt matching up right causing the whole freaking problem.
