Hey All You Lab Guys Heres A Qustion

i have chance to get this guy im going to look at him tomarrow hes not to old hes 3 half to 4 yeas old they have all his papers they just need to get rid of him what you guys think think i should give him a home i was told hes a pure choc

Both my dogs were rescue dogs and they were both adults 3-4 years old and have been great. I wouldn't hesitate as long as the dog generally receives you warmly and has no ill temperament. Labs tend to have so much energy which I figured probably contributed to the previous owner getting rid of him. I'm sure there will be some quirks at first you need to work on but he looks like a great dog.

Great dogs, my chocolate is 14 years old now. Got him when he was "new" I was driving my '70 Camaro 100 miles to trade it for a Chevelle, the Chevelle wasn't as nice as my Camaro but I really wanted it. The owner had a papered bitch that just had a dozen pups, and he gave me a papered pup to seal the deal. He has grown up with my son, and been the best dog ever. It is still the best car deal I ever made

The fact that they got him to sit still for a picture makes me think he's probably not a crazy dog that's always bouncing off the walls. I don't know if you have any dogs now, but just make sure you have enough time, patience, space, and money for another one. Good luck.

Thats what I am thinking, however I can get my 7 month old to sit for pics. He is a good dog except for his chewing. left him out Friday night when we went to the movies, got back and he chewed some trim and the first stair (carpet).

I got one of my dogs from a shelter and the other from a rescue group. They are great dogs.

 

Harley, doesn't chew and will not under any circumstances go to the bathroom in the house he doesn't have to be kennelled when we are gone. He is a little hard headed and he hates the water. But no dog is perfect.

 

Madison is really obedient and aims to please. She is nowhere near as independent as Harley which is a good thing. She loves the water, I haven't figured out how I am going to keep her out of the water when in the boat fishing. She is a chewer and she goes to the bathroom in the house. She is also a world class fence jumper, but she is obediant enough that she always comes back when called. She has to be kenneled when we are gone. She peed right next to me one day. Unlike Harley, who will bug you until you let him out, Madison gives no warning. But she is still a good dog.

 

I love my dog's and will always look to rescue organizations and shelters for a dog, especially a lab. There are way too many labs in need of homes. In fact I want another one but the other half says no.

Your dog and mine could be twins. They have the same big head and mine always gives me that look, esepcially when he wants something.

 

Madison once chewed up my remote control and three Xbox 360 games. That ios why she no longer gets left out unsupervised.

He definitely looks like a pure Choc Lab. I have two myself, a 6 yr old male that I have had since he was a pup (he is pretty crazy lol) and 3 to 4 year old female that I adopted about a year ago. They are awesome dogs and my baby brother (who is now going to be three soon) loves playing with them and they are really gentle with him ( My brother is not so gentle with them) and have never had a problem with them.

That's awesome.. You can't go wrong with a Lab! I've had them my whole life. My favorite was a black male that lived to be 13.. definitely the best friend I ever had! Good luck with him.. what's his name?

I would have to agree with all of the previous posters, A beautiful animal.

 

My brother, Mike had Punkin (a black Lab) for 16 years, and even though she didn't see me much, She knew me as soon as I opened the door. We all miss her dearly.

I have a 12 year-old and 3 1/2 year-old yellow labs. I love them to death, but you need to be weary of hip dysplasia. Just constantly give them their vitamins for their joints and you're good to go!

hes a great dog so far dosent seem to be happy tho unless hes under covers with me sleeping lol i needa bigger bed
