Advice On A Tune For My Lifted 4x4?

Whats up guys, With the new 6" lift and 33" tires i'm considering getting a tuner to help out with the decreased gas mileage. I've heard from several people you can tune your truck for big tires and lift, and it can bring you truck back to almost stock specs. The question is, what tune would you reccomend for this? Any advice is appreciated!

a tune can adjust the difference in the speedo. for larger tires. as for the lift, no. only way to get back to almost stock, is to be stock. you will lose mpg with the lift, but you may gain a little with a tune..

what gears do you have? 3.42 will be too weak and leave you too low in the RPM band, you'll be constantly downshifting. 4.10's you'll be just fine with 33's, 3.73 will give you better mileage than 4.10's but leave you with a feeling of less power.

that's just something else to consider.

I'm gotta say that 33s are going to look pretty small on a 6 in. lift, id go for 35s if I was you.

I'm running 33" tires with a 6" Fab-tech lift on my 04 Z71. 33" tires fit perfect. A 35" tire will rub when turning sharp even with a 6" lift on that new of a Chevy.

I run the HyperTech and I leave it set at 87 and I did get my stock fuel mpg back, plus I can set speedo for 33" tire size plus get a firmer shift, raised rpms and speed limit cut off to 128 mph. Leave shift points alone. And it will find any trouble codes. I'm happy with mine.

I guess you would know then, I was just going off my friend truck... its a 97' Dodge 1500 with a 5.5 in. lift and 33's and that truck looks ridiculous, but I guess they sit higher anyway.

And on the Diesel place there is a bunch of guys running 35's on 2500HDs at stock hight, so I figured they could fit on a 1500 with a 6 in. lift.

BTW your truck looks pretty sweet.

Sorry I am a bad typer and that wasnt very clear.

What I meant was BigZ would actually know because he has 33's and a six in. lift.

And then I tried to say that my friend has a dodge with a 5.5 in. lift and 33's and his truck looks stupid.

Sorry I wasnt clear the first time.

cool thanks the local muffler tech sells and installs hypertech programmers so i might consider that too. The w4me tune's price tag is kind of hard to pass up though.

yeah i actually thought the same thing haha but i am buying the kit used from someone who had the kit set up with the tires and wheels so i was able to see what it looked like and it actually looked really clean. Not to mention the superlift 6" is actually more like a 5.5" lift.
