Code "random Missfire" Runs A Bit Rough

I have an 05 Sierra 2500HD 4X4 6.0L Gas engine 135000 Km + (84000 Miles+)

My problem is that sometimes I get an error code at start up that reads out "Random Engine Misfire" This error may happen a few times in a row (I clear it with my code reader) or it may not show up for a month. This started at the beginning of the winter months here in Canada. If it's colder, I may expect it more than now as its starting to warm up. The engine also runs a bit on the rough side at idle, rides and accelerates fine. The spark plugs are new.

Anything in particular that is a common thing on this engine type that I should try and check or replace? Aside from a vacuum leak or an EGR stuck open, what could case this? The code does not tell me where the misfire is (cylinder) or if its a constant as to wher its missing. Would a shop be able to determine where the miss is if the code is left on?

Thanks in advance.

You might want to check the 02 sensors the truck might be over fueling its self so it warms up to operating temperature or the air intake sensor thats were i would start hope that helps
