Anyone use it?

Just put some 75w-90 in the differentials on my 1999 4X4 2500, and the last tank went from 12.7mpg to 14.4mpg. Pretty blown away by the results, would have never thought it would have made such a difference. Will monitor the next 5 tanks to see if it was fluke, tailwind or something.

If a certain type of rear end lube could increase fuel efficiency by 1.7 MPG then every vehicle manufacturer would be using it.

The RP did not cause your trucks increase in efficiency. It probably had something to do with warmer weather and the summer blend gas.

A synthetic blend motor oil is in your truck from the factory now and there no way RP is going to give you almost 2 more mpg. As said if using that type of oil gave you that much gain in mpg all major vehicle companys would be using it being there under the gun on getting more mpg out of there vehicles.

I use RP oil in both of my trucks. The only noticable difference between RP and Mobil 1 in my experience has been that on fresh oil both of them quiet the cold start piston slap completely. As the oil ages the noise comes back. With RP the noise stays gone for more mileage then Mobil 1...that's enough for me to pay a little extra for RP, as I keep it in the engine longer (4-5K miles).

That's why I said I will monitor the next five tanks to see if it was a fluke, did not say it will increase any other vehicle mpg by 1.7.

What synthitic blend would that be? I did not not know about synthetic blend being put in the engine.

Edit:Did I misread your post. I was thinking you ment in the engine. You ment in the differential. Actually I believe the factory diff fluid is full synthetic. I could be wrong.

Yea the factory diff fluid is full synthetic. RP is nothing but over hyped and over advertised synthetic.

I don't use Royal Purple, but thats a matter of opinion.

I use RP 5w30 in the engine and RP 75w90 in the differential. No problems...

Oh yeah, I also use RP 75w90 in the lower unit of my outboard boat motor.

call me stupid or a liar... when I switched from rp I noticed a Dramatic change in mpg. my personal test was a distance of 8 miles 5.5 on highway 2.5 residential streets. both before and after test was don't at 3 AM. no traffic and driving conditions were exactly the same. RP increase in 2.3 MPG on this test. I run 5w30. I'm convinced RP works.. next change I'm going to try the mobile 1 and see how it compairs with RP.

I do. It quieted the cold start ticking I had with the stock oil and Mobil 1. I have no idea if it did anything for performance or mileage, nor have I done an analysis yet, but I was content enough with no more ticking. Its not really any more expensive than the Mobil 1 and I know that its 100% synthetic. Unless the analysis I've yet to do comes back negative, I will continue to use it.
