looking into getting a 99'

Hi this is my first post of this web-site. first of all this forum kicks some bow-tie a55. Second im thinking of getting a truck in the next few months. I would like your suggestions on what to watch out for. Im looking to buy a 99' x-cab, 5.3l v8, 4x4, c1500, Pewter with black fender flares. thanks in advance for your help.

That is almost the identical setup that my youngest brother has.The exception being his is a 2000.

You may want to see if any dealerships have any leftover 2000's though.

I'm sure they would cut you a good deal if you can find one and they've had a year to work a few of the bugs out plus you get an extra 15 hp over the '99.

Silverado man,

I did what yzr2k said. I bought my '99 in January 2000. I got a great deal on it I think. I only paid ?,000 for it. I'm really happy with my '99.

I'm still seeing some great deals on leftover '00's. You will get the extra 15 hp which is nice too. You may have to put Bushwacker Flares on it if you want black flares. I am under the impression that the factory flares on a pewter truck are color matched.

Shaners is dead on about the color option on the flares.

The ones on my brothers truck are Bushwacker's that me and my other brother bought for him for Christmas.the oem flare color for a Pewter Z71 is Pewter as well.

thanks for the responses. I would love to have a 2001 but my budge just cant handle the added expense so thats why i was going with the 99', but if i can find the right deal i will buy the 00' model in a heart beat. this truck has been a dream of mine since the day the new style has came out.
