I like the denali's clean look and I guess I tried to do my own RCSB Denali

oh and by the way, I also installed a hitch ball on the rear bumper hole (had it lying around)

:):lol: I absolutely love everything you've done, except putting the lower valance back on. I like it better off, but it's your truck.

The truck desperately needs to be leveled though (either drop the rear, or lift the front a couple inches).

The side steps look good. But honestly, and since you asked, I've never been a fan or borrowing a grill from another truck, especially from the Denali. I gotta look at the truck as a whole - not just the front grill. And when you do that, it just looks way out of place. Probably more than usual because it's a regular cab Z71. The Z71 should have it's own unique look, not something taken from a Denali. But hey, if you like it...

I generally agree with you Wayne but not on this one so much. I think everybody should do exactly what they like to their own truck. We might know it is a Denali grille but a poll of the general public would likely result in 95% of them not having a clue. Customizing started by people taking parts from one vehicle and adding them to another one to make theirs different. As far as my opinion (which was asked for) I think the rear needs to be lowered big time and I am not a fan of the shorty chrome steps at all. I think the grille works if you want that much bling on the front tend. As most of you know I love the RCSB truck.

True, and I'm not discouraging that. People should and obviously always will do whatever they want to their trucks... but that doesn't always mean it works. I know my YD looks stock (because it is), but I've spent thousands of dollars on previous vehicles customizing the performance and apperance aspects of the vehicle. Although I never took parts from other vehicles. :)

But back to the topic, when I look at this truck here, I just see a flashy Sierra Denali grill sitting all by itself on the front of a relatively stock RCSB truck. Essentially it doesn't blend in with the truck, as it does in the vehicle it came with. I'm not bashing taking parts from other trucks in general. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, and sometimes you just have a lot more to do to make it work. And of course, that's where personal preference comes in!

it looks cool, but I liked the chrome front bumper better. Ill call the lower denali grill a compromise!

thanks guys.. I totally respect your views and I actually do agree with you in some context.

I dont want to fool my self and others by saying I own a Denali when I borrowed the look.. I just love the RCSB but much prefer Denali's look over the stock Z71

the other thing that really limits my choices is my "rule" of not modding my cars' exterior other than any OEM options and/or OEM approved customiser (i.e. AMG for benz) so when I come to my choices I think that I did the best possible mod for my truck

so I change the looks as per my taste, yet dont call my car any other name than it's own

and Yes, I agree with you all that leveling should be done ASAP!!!

thx all folks!! opinions always welcomed & appreciate your views and feedback

I like the painted bumpers a lot. did you do it yourself?

no actually I had my local dealer do it for me..

chrome needed sanding to be removed before starting painting

It looks good, but i like the original grill better than the denali grill.

thx... I fancied the Denali's because it comes with the lower piece too..

If the accessory mesh grill came with a lower piece then I would DEFINITELY go for it.. looks way better than the holes

Looks good...lose the ball, you have a receiver!

I had to pick someting out...
