Looking At Doing Some Exterior Decorating

Recommended Posts

I'm looking at changing a few things on the exterior of my truck. These are mainly for me as there are a few things that I'm not sure I couldn't make look a little better in my opinion. I want to see what the rest of yall think about it though.

Here's what my truck looks like now.....these pictures were taken back in January and I've since had the door repaired. Please excuse the mud and gun rack.

I was thinking about getting the front end changed from the all black to chrome with painted end caps and fog lights. I was also thinking a hood deflector, side window visors, and a Rough Country 2" leveling kit. Do yall think that would improve the looks a good bit or no?

I think it would look good with the front end changes and level kit. The hood deflector and vent visor gig is a little too Walmart for me...

How in the world is a bug deflector and window visor going to improve the looks? They are hideous!

Just because it is in the Stylin' Concepts cataloge does not mean it is an aesthetic improvement.

P.S. I have a bug deflector.

I agree with the others, skip the bug sheild and deflectors. I think I would level, get new wheels/tires, and paint the front bumper. I'd probably leave the grill black or paint the surround silver birch and leave the grill itself black.

it looks like there is a nasty dent in your driver's side door :S

lift it! 3 inch lift kit!

Thanks for the replies.

I was looking at the bug shield and window visors more for keeping my hood from looking poke a dot after I get off the highway and keeping rain off the side windows. I'll reconsider that though.

Do yall think the stock tires would look OK with a 2" leveling kit for a while until I can scrape up the cash for larger tires? Or would they look too small?

Canadian Eh!.....that was quite the nasty dent in my door. I was off-roading with some friends on family land and a doggone tree tried to reach into my window. I was backing up when it happened so I'm lucky I didn't do more damage. Tree was in my blind spot and I just watched the mirror and never looked over my shoulder. Missed the bed by inches, dented three or four 10" strips in the door, ripped the drivers side mirror off, and stopped barely before the front right quater panel. Mirror was fixed in October for $100 and the door was replaced in April for $1132. I won't hit that tree again. :uhoh:

idk what these other people are thinking.... your truck would look sweet with side window deflectors.....make sure you get the in channel ones though.

and a bug deflector would look pretty sweet too. and the stock tires would be fine and would 100x better with new tires and rims when you get more money..
