Nnbs Cb Mounting

Anyone put one in yet? I did a search and got a few threads on it, but very few pics and none where the 07 or 08 models...I need pics to see if I want to mount one...

I noticed a lot of people put them in the bed of there trucks by, the corner of the rear window.

I really hope you are talking about an antenna and not the CB that I was asking about...

If you have a console, i have no idea. If you dont, right where the console would be under the dash, or on the floor in a bracket in the middle.

I have an '06 and mounted mine on ceiling of the cab in front of the rear view mirror. It's more convenient there. I have a WT model so I don't have all the fancy stuff above.

To figure out where to predrill the holes for the sheet metal screws (2 of them) I took the headliner down just to make sure I wasn't going to go through the roof. That would have been bad... I ran the power and antenna cables under the headliner since I had it down, down the plastic molding on the driver's side, and then into a wiring harness that I plugged into the SEO jack under the dash. Antenna went out through the firewall into the engine compartment (drilled small hole, used grommet, put custom end on cable). It hasn't fallen off yet and I've hit some good pot holes around here on my gravel road home <sigh>.

I took the suggestion of other forum members and made a mounting bracket that would allow the antenna to be mounted on the driver's side in such a fashion it looks stock like the radio antenna. Almost wish I would have bought a bracket as I am not a machinist by no means, so I had some problems getting the antenna exactly where it needed to be so the base did not touch the truck frame.

Post pics of your installation when you are done. I'm curious how it goes on the NBS.

I havent really decided what I want to do yet. I really did not want to mount a bracket to the floor. I dont have the console so it is wide open there. I may look at trying to find some type of console I can get and make it look like part of the dash comming down to the floor to mount it in...Maybe even try to carpet it or paint it to match interior...
