Autoride Compressor Not Running After New Shocks

My factory shocks were feeling pretty worn so I installed a set of new Delphi autoride shocks tonight. The leveling system has worked fine and kicked on after every initial start. Immediately after installing the shocks, the compressor won't run. I hear a click from the compressor (maybe the solenoid) about 5 seconds after starting the truck but there is no air being pumped. It seems really strange that the compressor would die exactly when I changed the shocks. Any advice on what might be preventing the compressor from kicking on? I did notice a lot of dry dirt coming out of the electrical connectors on the rear shocks when I disconnected them. Thanks in advance for any help.

I've been thinking about this over the weekend and it seems like there must be an issue with either the shocks sending their position to the compressor control module or the compressor getting the signal to turn on. Does anyone have information on how the compressor is controlled (reads the height, switches on, etc.) so I can start troubleshooting? If I hook the compressor up directly to a 12v power supply and it runs, would that indicate a particular issue?
