If its one thing we all have in common it is that we all want what is best for our beloved rides. That being said I pose this question. A lot of debate is made about whats the best oils, fuel, etc... But aren't the filters just as, if not more important then the lubricants and fuel? I have always used K&N or ACDelco filters but, in doing research, I have found a lot of evidence that Wix filters might be the way to go. So my question is, what filters do you use on your truck(s)? and why?

ACDelco :) Wix may be better, I just like ACDELCO!!!

I have always used a Wix filter, and the main reason is that I have always used them and never had a problem. When I ran marine diesel engines, the first oil change I contacted the engine manufacturer and asked what oil filter he recommended, and his answer was Wix. I compared the spec's on various oil filters, and I liked what I saw with the Wix. So Wix it is.

I appreciate the responses guys. Do you guys use ACDelco for your fuel filters, transmission filters, oil filters, and air filters? Or just for one specific place? What about other brands? And what about the reasoning? Is it because thats what came from the factory? or its cheap? Thanks again for all the responses.

Napa Gold...AKA WIX!! :)

Yup, me too. Wanna know why? Because Napa is about 5 miles closer to my house than any other auto parts store. :sigh:

In the name of science I ran a search through summitracing.com and jegs.com to find every oil filter (I figure thats is the most important) available for my Silverado (6.6L Duramax). I then e-mail the manufacturers of each of the filters for information. Below is there responses. I also did the same research for my Suburban (5.7L) and the results (except for the flow rate) where the same. I hope this helps.
