GunAction Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 I had my GMC Sierra on order since Dec. 29th 2007. It suppose to be built Feb 26th but it sat on the assembly line for months. I had given up come May, and canceled my order. It was delivered to my dealer June 27th, and I picked it up on Jun 28th. Although I canceled my order I still had first dibs on the truck I found out. It is a sweet ride. Just wondering if anyone else waited 6 months on their truck?
Kodiak450 Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 Did you have it built wih GM optional packages or something? Special accessories, wheels, exhaust ect? Sounds like a long time t wait. What excuse did you get from GM as to why it took so long?

What excuse did you get from GM as to why it took so long? I ordered a 2500HD, with SLT package,6.0, SunRoof, Z71 pacakge, and just about every other option except the navagation system, and Duramax. GM said it took so long because of the axle strike. It was sceduled to go down the line the day after the strike began. So there it sat waiting on a solution to the strike. I had many phone calls with GM, and my dealer during the strike, and I am at this point very happy that I waited. I love the truck. I hope to never have to wait that long again.

Well, I guess anything worth having is worth waiting for. But 6 months would've tested my patience. Sounds like a great rig. Pics please!

likinit2 Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 I ordered mine the third week in December and got it the last week of January. I missed the strike and it sat in Flint done for over a week until it got a ride to my dealer. I couldn't find a 6.0 3500 single wheel with the accessories I wanted. I would have waited a year for it now that I know what I have. It flat out rocks compared to any truck I have ever had. I will own this one until the wheels fall off.
topdj Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 found this thread, WOW I sure hope I don't have to wait that LONG!!!
dmann33 Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 found this thread, WOW I sure hope I don't have to wait that LONG!!! I doubt it. Mine just came on on Jan 28 - which was a little over 5 weeks from order to delivery. I orderedon Dec 20 and it was built on Jan 18. It would have been about a week quicker, but the plant was closed for Christmas.
jandersinc Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 My 2010 2500 Yukon XL 4x4 took just under 6 weeks to arrive. That was in May 2010 though.
