I could make this a poll... but it would be much easier to just have you post the genre, and a few acts from it.

I'm cheating though. I'm not telling what I listen to. :idiot:

My music preferences span far and wide. According to everyone I know I am "The Redneck Gangsta". I mainly listen to Hard Rock/ Metal, with some country thrown in. But rap is also a common occurance. I like fast beats with a good hook. I don't care what genre it is.

Funny story..... I've kinda gotten into Karaoke as of late. :idiot:

I get pretty wild with it too... for instance this last go-round I started with George Thorougood's "I drink alone", then went with Bloodhound Gang's "Fire, Water, Burn", and finished 'er off with Outkast's classic "Ms. Jackson".

What can I say.... that's how I roll. :nono:

My main genre is metal, all kinds death, speed, thrash, industrial whatever I like metal. I also love soundtrack scores like hans zimmer etc. I will also listen to the occasional southern rock type stuff like molly hatchet, some country like tracy byrd, and I even like a couple rap songs...just a couple.

Pretty much anything from funk to metal to blues to rap to folk.

Rap isn't too common, but when I'm in the mood, I enjoy me some Roots, Mr. Lif, Outkast, Afroman

Not too much into metal anymore, but I'll still listen to old Metallica, some Megadeth, Motorhead, Mastodon, RATM,

Mostly what I listen to though is what has been described by the guys I work with as "hippie shit". :idiot:

Stuff like Phish, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, The String Cheese Incident, Umphrey's McGee, Gov't Mule, Back Door Slam, G. Love, Michael Franti, Donavon Frankenreiter, Xavier Rudd, John Butler Trio, Dave Matthews, Allman Brothers Band, The Black Crowes, Bob Marley, Derek Trucks Band, Dispatch (no, I'm not gay...), moe., North Mississippi Allstars, Tea Leaf Green, Slackstring... The list is endless.

Mainly 70's/80's classic rock. For instance, crank up the bass in "Satisfied Man" by the late Danny Joe Brown of Molly Hatchet fame and you'll know what I mean.

Bluesy Jazzy stuff mostly for me. Joe Banamassa, Jake Andrews, Gare Moore, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Stevie Ray etc. Add Disturbed and Los Lonely Boys to the pile. Some Dave Brubeck and Al DiMeola... Throw in some Pink Floyd and Eagles and I'm pretty much set. Won't find any ©rap coming from my house unless some bro is robbing the joint.

I'm not even sure my home owner's association allows rap. :idiot:

alcohol really screwed his voice. We'll find out when the new single comes out this summer.

Thunderstruck, that's a pretty damn good list, save a few.

Alice in Chains is my favorite of the larger Seattle bands too. I listen to mostly Progressive Rock/Metal. King Crimson is my favorite. I love almost anything Progressive, Southern Rock, or Grunge. Dream Theater is well up there. What got me into metal was Tool, I have seen them live twice and they really are the best out there currently producing music. Over the last year of so I've become a big fan of Neil Young.
