03 Center Console Lid Repair

Well my lid has broken at the hinges and has got a crack in the top of it as well. Does anyone know if there are a.m. lids or should I just replace it or try to fix it?

I have never seen aftermarket lids...I have searched hi/low on several sites not particularlly looking for them, but i have never seen them...Probally can still get one from dealer...

I'll be giving the dealer a call today...in the meantime though I cleaned it up scuffed up the edges and tried some JB Weld, it took too long to setup so I wiped it cleaned and used JB Kwik. It sets in 4 min. so hopefully this will hold for now.

There used to be replacements with JPCustoms, but they are not available. A friend referred me to them, however I will ask to see if there are any alternatives.

Dealer prices are way too much, I went to the dealer the other day to see how much the rear brake pads would be and they told they would be just 157 dollars, that's why I always try to get my stuff somewhere else. I had a 2003 Suburban with the center console and always everybody would try to open it without pressing on the button by the driver side and I'm shocked it didn't break.

I've tried ebay but nothing. I'll swing by the yards this weekend hopefully. I want to see what those JPCustoms look like even if its just that.

If not, keep looking on eBay. It may take a week or so of looking everyday, but I bet someone will list one.

* Edit...I didn't pay attention to how expensive the ones on eBay were. Damn! I think if you want this thing to look like new, you are going to have to fork over $130+. If that isn't an option, you'll have to figure out how to fix it yourself most likely. An upholstery shop might be able to fix it, but it may cost just as much as a new one.

Damn, now that I don't have my 2006 Silverado the center consoles are way cheaper now. When I had my 2006 the center consoles on ebay would be way more expensive than 300 dollars. I remember on a website, I forgot what it was called they would sell the center console for over one thousand dollars. Most parts for the GMT-800 got way cheaper now, that is awesome though if you own one.

For the price if I snipe ebay long enough I could end up with the whole seat Its just the lid portion though that I need, 2 of the 3 plastic hinges broke and I've fixed them for now with some JB Kwik.

Always get the part numbers from the parts counter and then go shopping online. Lots of GM dealers sell online at big discounts.

I tried that today and all I got back was a phone call telling me the same price.

I did find some stores on ebay that sell them (one guy has at least 300 of them) and wouldn't know it, they think they're GM dealers too (charging the same price)
