This topic has probably been beat'n to death but I did a search and nothing comes up... Am I supposed to be able to play DVD's while in park? I have the factory DVD/NAV unit in my 08 Sierra CC. When I put a DVD in, it says "Disk Read Error". My buddy (The guy that sold me the truck) said I would be able to play DVD's while in park.... Just a little confused.

There are two DVD NAV units. One plays DVDs on the 8" display on the ceiling (UVB), the other is just a NAV who's map software is powered by a DVD but only plays CDs and MP3 CDs.(U3U)

Hope that helps

If your NAV unit will play DVDs, it would most likely will have 'DVD' on the front........well mine does anyways. And I can play movies using both the NAV screen, and the video screen in the back.

i believe there is a lockpick for the GMT 900 trucks that will enable your nav screen to play dvds.

yeah, found a site. hope this helps

http://www.coastaletech.com/gmlockpick.htm

(this is just one example, i don't know place would be the best to buy from)

I don't know for sure, but I think the lockpick only lets you watch movies while you are rolling. I don't know if it will add DVD playback.
