No Power At Plug With '08 Integrated Brake Controller

Just purchased '08 2500 GMC with the IBC option. While having my gooseneck hitch installed, installer told me there was no power at the plug for trailer brakes. He is telling me I need an aftermarket controller as nothing appears to have been hooked up at the factory.

 

What do I have to do to have this controller provide power at the plug? Could the gain be set so low no power is showing up at the plug? I was under the impression I could plug in my trailer harness and everything would be working fine. I need help as truck is at hitch installer's.

There's a wire that's wrapped up by the brake master cylinder you have to hookup. Do an internet search & you'll find the instructions on what to do, (why the hell the factory doesn't hook it up is beyond me). You'll also need to install a 40 amp fuse as well to make the circuit active. That will give you power on the 12v plug for your trailer battery (has nothing to do with your trailer brakes).

I only had to hook up the one wire for the 12V power to my trailer (for charging the trailer battery). I did not have to do anything for the trailer brakes on my 2500 with the IBC.
