Camper Power

Which kind of camper? A pickup camper? If so, I recommend making a long adapter harness and plugging it into a camper and the other end into the 7-way round back by the hitch. This was the solution my dad and I came up with to put his truck camper in his truck. It was easier and more reliable than tying into the wiring harness that runs to the back of the truck. For some reason, most OEM's don't leave the power drop at the front corner of the box anymore, even though basically all truck campers still have the plug in at that corner.

I pretty much just use the plug by the hitch for anything I tow/haul that needs to be plugged in.

Naa, I need to put a couple of lights in my bed to light it up so I am not stumbling around at 4am trying to put on my waiders.

What do you need waiders for in bed? Is it some new freaky stuff that I haven't heard about yet?

we put in splitters all the time when we do goose necks / fifthwheels ...

you pretty much unplug your harness by your OEM 7 way then the new harness plugs in and splits it and has about a 4 ft worth of wires...

then we holesaw a 2.5" hole about a foot from the tailgate and rivit it in... and then you have a 7 way on your bumper and one in your bed...

It is available as an option,I ordered it on my truck,Its RPO code "UY2"-Camper & 5th Wheel Wiring Harness Provisions.

Look to see if you have it,You'll notice it on the drivers side frame rail, between the cab & bed.

All i need to do is have a switch in my bed of my pickup that i can use to turn some lights on to light my truck bed. Right now, with my dog box in place, there's some dark spots.

I won't be using a camper or 5th wheel. However, thinking about it I have the power to my 7way that to charge my e-brake on my trailer!!!
