This is Mike Kaufman, the author of "The Motor Oil Bible".  Although I appreciate your positive comments regarding the information, I am troubled by the fact that you seem to be willing to illegally provide the unlocking password to anyone who asks.  The book makes it clear that only the free version may be distributed, not the password for unlocking it.

 

A great deal of time and effort has gone into the writing of this book, and I think you realize that.  Otherwise, you wouldn't be suggesting that others read it.  So why does it seem ok to you, that you give away my hard earned money?

 

This book was written to be an educational resource, and for those who can't afford to purchase the full book, I provide a free version that provides them with most of the basics.  I do this because I want people to be informed.  

 

However, I have a wife who's off work and pregnant with a baby on the way and twin two year olds.  Since I am self-employed, I must pay for my own health insurance  - about $600 per month for my family.

 

This sales of the full version of this book make up half my income.  If everyone who purchased a copy decided to give it away to everyone they know (along with the password as you have chosen to do), I think it's clear it's my family who would suffer.  That is not acceptable to me.

 

I may not be in the poor house, but I'm no millionaire either.  It's not as if everyone and their brother is clammering to buy information on motor oil.  It's a very targetted market with limited results.  Please refrain from infringing upon what limited income potential the book offers me or I will be forced to take legal action.

 

There is a principal here that applies to all electronic books and their authors.  You did not spend the hours writing this book.  You should not be allowed to freely offer the work that I have decided to charge a fee for.  That is my decision not yours.

I feel like a moron. Let me appologize to ALL of you for the mistake I made.

 

I was under the assumption (without COMPLETELY reading and understanding the agreement) that I could give this away for free.

 

After recieving an email from this gentleman I went back through and re-read the agreement and now realize that I can only give away the FREE part of the Motor Oil Bible eBook. I am not allowed to give away the password to unlock the rest of the book. My only intention for any of this was to share the info of this eBook. I had absolutely no intention to pirate his software by illegally volunteering the password to unlock the full progam.

 

Again, please accept my appology. I will completely understand if I am removed from this forum for what I have done.
