Crappy Carpeting

I have a 2 month old 08 SIERRA SLE. The drivers carpet is already worn thru in one spot all the way up front where your left foot rests. It wore thru where it rests on a cable of some type that runs under the carpet at this location. Inspection reveals there is no padding whatsoever under this area of the carpet. In addition the far front edge of the carpet...up against the firewall area...has been curled up from day on. Thinnest carpet I have ever seen in a vehicle.............

Anyone else with this issue and has it been resolved??

Thanx

Mine has held up amazingly well. Looks new after a year.

Have a dealer look at it.

Thanks. That's mighty kind of you. There are a LOT of fancier ones in here though. I do like my RCSB truck!

Not to sure about crappy but I was furious to find a 4'' slit by the drivers seat. I took it right back to the dealer and they said its for wiring. They even showed me a couple more on the lot like that. You'd figure they would of hid it a little better. Anyone else notice this on theirs?

Yep....I have the same slit. There are no wires near it either!!! I smoothed it down and tucked it back in and it's ok but I'm not happy about the circumstances of my original post. Seems like they really cheaped up this truck in a lot of ways.....no lites under hood or floor. With all the wizbang electronics and lights they are to cheap to lite the window switches on the rear doors.....crooked emblems.....loose wires hanging under the dash....shiffty transmission.....

I drove F-150 's for 15 years and thought it would be fun to try a change. I'm having second thoughts.

I got vinyl 'carpet' in my 2008 and looks as new as the day it came from factory!

But back to carpet. Ford has the cheapest carpet going. It is worse than the cheapest indoor/outdoor carpet one can buy at some discount carpet outlet.

Ok. So not everyone has a dog.

I had a nice Ford Taurus wagon. Whenever I had to vacuum the car, the Ford factory carpet fibers would come up and be vacuumed with dog hairs/fur. In other words, every time I vacuumed car, I lost some of the carpet. This is the same carpet put in expensive (or not expensive) Ford trucks. It is aweful. I wouldn't even consider it carpet. Partially woven crap - Ford carpet.

Ditto for my Mommas Mazda. It had a big bald spot from vacuuming.
