Say Hi! To Max

Just bought my 08 Silverado LTZ VortecMax Extended cab short box Z71 truck on Wednesday. It has the 6 liter motor, Stabilitrak, integrated trailer brake controller, safety package, and 18" wheels.

I went to the local dealer last Wednesday when the new GM Employee pricing took effect along with the $5K cash back offer on the '08's. They gave me a lot more than I expected on my 99 Silverado LT Z71 and with the discounts, it drove it off the lot for $23K.

I only have 143 miles on today but so far the feel is much different than my old truck.

What is really funny is that the sales guy I worked with bought my old truck  He was in the market for a truck and once the shop tech went over it to prep it for the used car lot, they told him to grab it before it want on the lot. Now the sales guy is going to get any accesories that I want for the new one at his cost. :troll:

Not sure if I'll de-badge it or not. I didn't do that to the 99 but that truck didn't have that big bowtie logo on the tailgate.

I'm thinking about some pinstriping; there is a local show coming up and a guy will be there that does excellent pinstiping work that is all freehand. That's sort of a lost art and the stuff I have seen him do is absolutely fantastic. He only asks how fancy you want the job to be. Other than that, he does what he thinks works.

I'll be adding some step bars (probably the GM oval ones), GM splash guards, and a tonneau cover of some type. Also have to get a Line-X liner sprayed in.
