2004 6.0l Manifold Bolt Broke

Hey guys, I just noticed tonight I have a broken off head on the DS manifold and of course it is the one right at the firewall.. Does anyone know the part # for the gaskets and new bolts I will need or anything else to fix? Also approx. $ for parts and repair if I decide to not do it myself? How bad was it to do yourself? I do have bolt left it just broke right at the head.. Thanks

In 04 GM revised new manifold bolts, ask a dealer for a set of the revised manifold bolts. Manifold bolts prematurely snapping off at the head were very common for many years. Sometime in 04 GM fixed this problem with revised manifold bolts. I recently had a new manifold installed along with new bolts that were revised in 04. It is very common for the heads on the bolts to snap off closest to the firewall. It is very possible with your bolt head being snapped off you might be leaking exhaust now too. You'll especially hear it when the engine is cold and just start up, it'll sound like an old engine. Also will hear it when AC is on and notice a power loss and worse mileage depending on how bad the leak is. The bolts are inexpensive and are coated and have a white coating on center thread (it is some type of lock thread GM put on the bolt).

Seems common on 6.0 Mine did the same but haven't changed it yet. Sucks that GM knows this and let us bear the expense of fixing their screw up.
