Introduction From Arizona

I was searching for a way to find a build sheet for an '05 Tahoe I recently bought when I stumbled on this site. From browsing through the forums and threads, it looks like a very useful board so I joined. The Tahoe is replacing my '90 Chevy 1500 2WD with over 200,000 miles on it. (I was due... )

Anyway, a little more about the Tahoe. Where I live I'm surrounded by mountains and I really like to get up on the back trails, but I haven't been able to do that since I got rid of my Izuzu 4x4 years ago. It came with all the fancy trim, but I took all that off on the first day. I removed the running boards, side trim, and front air dam. Then I took it over to the tire shop and put on a set of P275/75/R16 BF Goodrich All Terrain T/As. I've tried it up on some rocky, steep trails and it did very well. At least now the skid plates have some character and I have some new pinstripes down the sides.

Future mods will be a heavy duty grill guard, rubber fender flares,a slight lift, and possibly blacked-out grill and bumpers.

Here's a pic when I first got it, and a couple after the changes.

One of the things that drew me to this one is that the skid plates looked brand-new, I found a McDonalds happy meal sticker under the third row seats, and the first time I pressed the OnStar button they answered, "How may I help you Miss...". All of that leads me to believe that the previous owner was a soccer mom and it was probably never even shifted into 4-wheel drive before. This color is good for our dirt around here and tree branch scratches don't show as bad as colors like black.
