2007 Nbs Alarm Add-on Frustration

I am looking to beef up the factory Content Alarm System on my 07 NBS Silverado. I also have remote start. The OEM alarm is pretty weak and I am aware I can add a shock and tilt module from GM accessories, but the final cost is close to adding an entire aftermarket system.

 

I have heard about the newer DEI OEM add-on's, such as the 3902T or 1701G which would integrate with the factory alarm. However I am having trouble getting any help from what few DEI dealers/installers I have arounf here. Many have GOB and the those that remain are not aware of how to integrate the newer technologies or have no interest other than to install a complete new aftermarket system after ripping out the oem system.

 

My needs seem simple enough: add an expansion alarm that will give me shock sensing and other sensor expansion. I can have a siren and a valet/LED and I want it to work with my factory key fobs and all their functionality (included remote start).

 

I have installed radios and alarms for my personal vehicles for the last 30 years. Is there anyway to get the modules and installation tips without angering the gods of DEI. I also want to add additional sensors like a tailgate switch and glass breakage. The webpage descriptions are pretty weak when it comes to technical details and getting installation instructions is difficult.

 

I am open to suggestions including look at alternatives to DEI products
