Disc Rotor Scoring

Truck has 4200 miles and 3 out of 4 disc rotors are scored already. Have anyone seen this before? See Attached...

I can feel the grooves with my finger nail. The brake still works fine. Its smooth and quiet. I have done quite a few brake jobs in the past with other cars and this is the 1st time I see it scored with so little miles. I don't know. Maybe I am getting too hard on my brakes lately.

It should still be under warrenty so take it to a dealer.

I had the exact same thing happen on my front right rotor on my 2007 Avalanche. I took the wheel off and the brake pads and found that there were large chunks of metal in the pad material that were carving into my rotor. I was able to scrape the larger pieces out of the surface of the pad, but not before I had three large grooves in my rotor. I drafted a letter complete with pictures and sent it up through the ranks at GM starting with my service rep. A few days later I got a response saying they were going to do nothing about it. All I was asking for was a new rotor and pad set for ONE wheel. I believe PBR is making the pads and rotors and their supplier must not be filtering out the larger bits of metal in the "semi-metallic" brake pads. Give it a shot with your dealer but I bet you get the same response. GM has bigger things to worry about than poor supplier quality in their brake pad division.

same thing is happening to my dads 07 Sierra, hes actually taking it to the dealer tomorrow, they said they would warrenty it even though hes got like 20K miles on it....

Thats a very point. Your PDF shows the metal chunks clearly. Thank you so much for the info. I'll take it in next week and see what they'll say. I have a few other minor issues I need them to look at. Thanks again.
