Magnaflow Exhaust

Just like to tell you all what went down. I bought a magnaflow exhust from autoanything.com about 3-4 months ago. The part number was 16740. single in single out. The tail pipe got all rusted after 3 months. I called autoanthing up and told them the problem. Mangnaflow sent me a new system. When I went to chenge it I noticed a weld leaking on the flange. Then I had to pay for shipping back to them for the sum of $141.88. I sent a note in the box telling them where the system was leaking. I called magnaflow aswell and told them. I also told them they sould help me out on the shipping cents it was a manufacture defect. They told me to talk to autoanything. I called them and they called magnaflow. When they called back they told me cents they sent me a new system they were not going to help me. Autoanything told me they were sorry but it was out of there hands. They said that magnaflow sould be helping me out. If I lived in california I would be better off with the shipping, but not up here!!!! I think magnaflow sevice sucks! The product was good.

Ouch. I would keep trying. Squeeky wheel gets the grease.

DUDE just put some glass pack exhaust on it and be done with it

Are you sure it's a real MagnaFlow catback and not just a custom system with a MagnaFlow muffler? Stainless steel doesn't rust like that, especially not in three months time. Sounds more like something that would happen with a cheaper, aluminized steel Flowmaster system.

I agree.. the knockoff brand is called MasterFlow...hopefully they didnt give you one of them!

Hmmm... I wonder. I did order a magnaflow #15665 a couple years ago. The pipes rusted pretty quick. Now the muffler is sounding louder and louder. Will most likely replace with a Corsa in a few months.

Yeah, stainless steel (all MagnaFlows are 100% stainless steel, save for their titanium exhausts) just doesn't rust, so something's definitely fishy.

Ya something is definitely up there. I have a new magnaflow exhaust system its 100% stainless. NO RUST...I would look into it abit more.

No pics, sent back the junk. It was the real magnaflow. It rusted where the pipe bender grabed the pipe. I was not happy. I think they sould pay for the shipping.

I'm not aware mine is having a problem, but I haven't crawled under the truck since I got back from the Salt Flats and was down there getting all the salt out. From your description, could it have been the weld itself that was rusting? I don't know if the welding rod is stainless or not. Its possible the weld might rust...

If possible at all, I suppose it'd be the welds as you said. Even then is shouldn't be much of an issue. If you're complaining about a MagnaFlow rusting at just the welds, then you're going to be hard-pressed to find anything that suits you, as stainless steel is as good as it gets. The stainless steel MagnaFlow uses is much better than the factory stainless steel (are they still stainless steel?), too.
