WOW. Predictions of 25 plus inches of rain and 60 plus MPH winds at my house this weekend. Anybody wanna have a Bar B Que?

Hurricane Ike is now predicted to head directly for us or pass just South of us... dumping huge amounts of rain. Times like this are when it's NOT good to live 120 miles from the Gulf of Mexico.

Fajitas will be lost! Pinatas will be flying!

I'll be sitting in the back yard in a lawn chair with a cold Shiner... You can only get so wet.

Well, I hear that because of the drying effect of the high winds the water in a hurricane of this force is only about 40% wet so it shouldn't be so bad for you there.

Too bad you sold that boat though, eh?

If you are on the East of the storm you may be a little dissapointed. I was on Gustav and although my area was under mandatory evacuation we never lost power.

Yeah, we might actually get some rain! At least the car fits in the garage now.

Or it could just change it's mind and give new orleans some more rain. Stupid hurricanes.

Looks like the eye is headed right over the house here or just below it. I'd settle for a little rain but it looks like we mught get a lot. We'll see.

Only one Shiner in hand??

Yeah, the news was just claiming it should go just of the west of the Dallas / Fort Worth area. If I remember correctly, it's the east side of these storms that have most of the rain. So, we should get a bit of rain up here, too...

They predict inland just ahead of Corpus Christi and once about Austin, a turn due North. Of course... they are SO accurate with this stuff. It may go to Mexico. Oh, and there will be backup Shiners.
