Hi to all, I have a GMC Safari (Astro) truck, year 2000.

I have a problem with my Brake Light and hazard Light, but all my flasher are working. What can cause this problem?

- Is it a relay? If yes, where is that relay?

- Is there a wire problem? Should I look in the back or the front of the truck?

- Is it a Fuse? Where is that fuse on the truck?

What exactly is the problem? Do they not light up?

They do not light up when I press the brake and they do not light up when I put the Hazard light (No son from the hazard relay either). But if I put the flasher right is working and the flasher left is working too. The roof light is not lighting up either!!!

Thank's

Alain

Sounds like it might be a brake light fuse. I hope you still have the owners manual for your vehicle. If so, look in the index and find "fuses". That will tell you what page to look for. The page should have an illustration of the fuse panel and where it's located. That's all I can help with. Good luck!

If your brake lights don't work, and your bulbs and fuse are both good, you might want to check the stop light switch. It is located down by the brake pedal with wires connected to it. There is a little plunger that, when you apply the brakes it moves outward, and when you release the brakes, it goes back in. Good luck. It will probably be white, and normally on the gas pedal side of the brake pedal.

Ok but, why the HAZARD LIGHTS are not whorking too (Front and back)? The flasher, left and right are working (front and back).

The Hazard flasher is a separate flasher from the regular turn signal flasher. Chances are it has gone bad. I would think the turn signal flasher would be on the fuse panel while the hazard flasher would be up under the dash held in place by a clip.

If you turn on one of the turn signals (either left or right) you should hear the flasher unit. Follow the clicking sound to that unit. That wil be the turn signal flasher in operation. Find the other flasher (it could be a light green plastic piece or a gold colored metal piece) and that will be the Hazard flasher. Replace it.
