Trying To Locate The Tps

I have a 2003 Chevy Suburban that sporadically goes into Reduced Engine Power. To overcome the issue, I park the burb, pop the hood and let the engine bay cool for a minute or so, and then restart. The problem then goes away until the next time.

 

Now I read on some forums that this glitch is related to a faulty Throttle Position Sensor, TPS. I checked my manual from GM and its supposed to be located on the driver's side of the engine, between the alternator and throttle body. However, on my V8, 6L engine I don't see it there. Only a controller for the throttle body is visible and thats on the starboard side.

 

Is the TPS integral with the throttle controller? Some photos of my engine follow:

On my old 2002 truck the TPS was located on the throttle body on the opposite side from the throttle linkage and bracket. The rod that opened the throttle runs into the TPS.

On the 2003 version there are no linkages, it appears to be servo control, more like throttle by wire. Thanks for the input.
