How Much Space Behind The Gmt900 Crew Cab Rear Seats?

Recommended Posts

I want to relocate my amp, and (possibly) install a shallow mount sub behind the rear seats on a GMT900. Crew Cab.

I want my floor space back!

Has anybody measured for this possibility? I have searched and found nothing.

Thanks!

Theres enough room for an amp, but I dont think you will fit any kind of subs in a box. Might try calling a sound shop and ask if its possible.

Yeah I figured there was likely enough for that, on a board to mount it.

Fosgate has a new low depth 12" DVC sub in an enclosure that is only 5" at the bottom, and 2.5" at the top!

Not bad, but I had never pulled the seatbacks down to measure exactly.

It sure would be nice to get the sub and amp of the floor, an put a DU-HA or some storage bin under there!

It's expensive but the JL Audio Stealthbox would be your best best with a small separate amp to some new door speakers.

The one in the console, you mean? (there are 3 of the JLs, now)

That is a major PIA, to remove the factory Bose in the console, from what I understand. I have been considering it, however. I did want to leave all my stock suff mostly intact. Right now the Bose is just disconnected.

I just thought one of these now Lo-Pro subs would be cool, if they fit.

Yes, in the console. That's the only one that'll fit yours, I am pretty sure. It does look like a PITA but it would give you that great sound with all of your space.

Hell, the additional sets of speakers and an amp should be doable for under 400 and sound 1000X better.

DO IT!!!
