I did not know where this thread should go so mods feel free to move it.

Well as you all know the new Camaro is going to be available soon.

However I am quite upset at the fact that they only offer a V8 in SS trim with all the bells and whistles.

This will undoubtedly lead to really high pricing.

I have also been following another car which you all, if your car enthusiasts, should know about and that is the Pontiac G8 GT.

This car has an L76 6.0 LSx engine in it.

I have been lurking for quite some time on g8board.com following G8 owners and their tuning.

This car is a true sleeper car. Four Dour Family Hauler...

The G8 GT is really detuned from the factory and with a tune and simple intake they are putting down awesome numbers.

Pontiac is also going to bring out a GXP model with the 6.2 LS3 engine in it. However this car is also probably going to be close to or above 40K.

My question to you all is...how much more ALL MOTOR potential is there in the LS3 as opposed to L76/LS2?

I don't know why but my attention has really been caught by the G8 recently...I guess its the sleeper aspect of it. I mean simple mail order tune, intake, and cat back exhaust will have this thing putting 350 rwhp and even more torque?!?

Hopefully wingnut will offer some of his extensive knowledge.

Those Aussies make a hell of a car with an a GM motor.

Every time I drive by the pontiac lot I gaze at the G8's sitting there and go, "Hmmmm...".

Good thing I can't afford one because I would love a toy car right now.

Man, I don't know much about the G8 or the LS3...Other than if I were looking for a 4 door sedan right now, it would be a G8 GT or GXP (if available). If I had the cash...I'd be on the list for the new CTS-V though. That's the ultimate right there.

I thought I remembered reading about a possible RS version of the Camaro (high hp stripper car)? I'm sure I'm not the only one that would want one. That was one of the main draws of the GTO for me. No Onstar, not a whole heck of a lot of electronic gizmos, and most importantly, a man pedal. It's a simple car for this day and age. And the interior is really about as nice as it gets. Best.seats.EVER.

G8 GT is a great bang for the buck right now too. Nice cars.

Your best bet would be to go test drive one. There is plenty of aftermarket for all LS engines. Magnacharger already has unit for the G8. Buy a G8 GT and a Magnacharger and you'll poo poo everytime you drive.

I'd love to do a photoshoot, but since I hate the wheels that are on it...It may be a while.

lol the least you could do is photoshop some wheels on there lol or just put big white circles where there suppose to go! how big do you want to go? like wheel wise?

I've got a couple of ideas. But pickings are slim for the GTO...Slim and expensive. Plus, the car only has around 4k miles on it and the tires are still new....So it's going to be a while.

I had 6,000 miles on my stock tires and I still bought bigger ones...Same thing for all my previous vehicles, hell on my HD I got the stock tires off right before it hit 1,000.

Yeah the CTS-V is gonna be just a TAD over my price range lol...

How much all motor power did you get out of your TBSS Mike?

I'm also not particularly looking for a four dour...it's just that it's such a sleeper car :dunno:

Another vehicle yes. I am planning on keeping my truck and getting a G8 GT/GXP or a new camaro too as a toy/weekend car.
