Been Out For A While But I'm Finally Back

I know I have been a ghost on here for the last few months. I have been working my A$$ off and have been out of state several times working on numerous Network/Infrastructure projects. It seems that when I was at home, more IT fires would blaze up and we would work around the clock to get things done and then several of us were right back on a plane or driving somewhere else.

I just glanced at a few areas and noticed that some people....(Tobias and Jeff) are now the proud owners of 7 WRENCHES (damn, they are post whores). Congrats guys! :jester:

I plan on being on here a little more often now that all the fires have been put out BUT there are several customers out there that owe us a SH!T LOAD of $$$. This economic crap thing is killing a lot of companies and I think that is why we have been busy. A lot of companies are trying to save money and bringing us on board to be their IT departments. We are running around like mad trying to keep up. I really can't complain because as long as this occurs, I can feel safe in my job.

I will talk more later but now it's off to sleep because we worked another long weekend and I got to see my favorite team whip A$$!

Oh yeah if you didn't know...GO GATORS! Damn it feels awesome to lay Gator-Pipe to the LSU Tigers. If there any Bayou Bengals on here....TOUGH...EAT THAT ONE! That makes up for last year biz-nitches! :D:cheers::lol:

Lookout DAWGS....TEBOW AND THE GANG ARE HUNGRY THIS YEAR!

Glad to see you're still hanging in there. All the extra hours can be a mixed blessing. Like you said, the more work you guys have, the more secure your job should be. :jester:

Take it easy!

Glad that you are back around!

Job security is something hard to find these days... I put in about 60 hrs last week + side jobs and I wanted to complain but I was just thankful that I have a job..

I know tomorrow is going to be a long day but I am ready for it... :jester:

amen to that Brian! Good to have ya back Rob. And yes, those Gators are back! Was pleasantly surprised that my Pokes beat Mizzou up in Columbia. Unfortunately, like the SEC, we still have to play several teams ranked in the top 10, in our case TTech, Texas, and OU. Makes for another interesting season! :jester:

Welcome back Rob. I wondered what happened to you. Glad you have plenty of work. It's been slim picking for me, and now I'm back to siding a house by myself. My last employee just had a heart attack, but is expected to make a full recovery.

Thanks guys, it's good to be back. Those last few storms (ok, hurricanes) had some of our customers SH1TT1NG themselves so we were jumping through hoops getting them setup in case they were out of commission for a while because of damage. Plus, we are now doing emergency testing for our larger customers which means we basically act like they are completely down and we restore all of their data to another location in no more than 24 hours. That means we pull some all-nighters. In the end we passed with flying colors so that concretes the faith our customers have in us. We are also getting ready for another SAS70 TypeII inspection, which in the IT industry, it's like having the IRS visit you and audit everything.

First,

stw08sierra your OSU team looked really good playing against Mizzou. I wouldn't worry too much about TTech because they looked flustered playing against a mediocre Nebraska team and OSU's offense is tons better than the Corn Huskers. Also, OU, in my opinion is overrated and hasn't been tested this year (again, my opinion). So they beat USC, who cares, look at their competition in the PAC10. Gimmie a break. The Horns are really good this year, but still let OU put up 35 points on them but that isn't saying much because Ole Miss put up 31 on us. I would say that will be the test for OSU but I like your odds (Sorry Zembonez gotta go with my gut on this one). :jester:

Dan,

We gave up looking for a house because the market is so shaky right now. I feel safer in an apartment and I'm kind of used to it now anyway. I know it's a buyer's market right now but I would rather pay off some more debt and take my chances in early 09. By the way, your truck is really coming along. I like the rocker panels.

Zembonez,

I think Urban Meyer had a long heart to heart with the team before we played the Tigers. We have been looking shaky these last few games (especially Ole Miss). I really think Tebow meant what he said after that loss to Ole Miss. You could see fire in the eyes of each Gator when they came out on the field Saturday night. Plus being in the Swamp adds to the emotion. If you've never been in that Stadium you have no idea how loud it gets in there. It sounds like you're standing next to a F-16 when it takes off! I really think my Gators have found themselves and we have two more games (Georgia and South Carolina) on our schedule that will make or break the team but I think we'll fare just fine. I'm more worried about Spurrier because his team is a Giant Killer. Just look at what they did to Vandy. He is always out there on the fringes waiting to ruin someone's chance at the big game. But, as I said, I think the Gators are playing at a level now where they will remain. I wouldn't be suprised if I see Florida v/s Penn State in the "Big Game" this year. Jo Pa has a heck of a team.

Sorry to hear about your last employee. I guess you just work too hard and too fast for anyone else to keep up. :D:lol: I hate to hear you have to do this next siding job by yourself. Well, at least we all have jobs and right now that is a good thing. Our COO sent out his "State of the Union" e-mail on Friday and has faith that we will come through alright. I believe him because for a small company, we have been in business for over 20 years now and in the IT world, that speaks volumes. If anyone knows our company and its' suvivability it's him. Plus, with all the new work we have been getting I think it will be ok. We just have to watch our spending so I guess that means that brand new lab I wanted to build will have to wait but I can deal with it.

It's good to see you back on. I'll pull for the Gators when they play. My Longhorns are doing OK!

Welcome back, A-Hole. <-- That was for the whore comment. :D

Rob, some things never change no matter how long you've been gone, like Daddy's sophisticated sense of humor! :D

Paying off debt is always a good thing. :D

And thanks, I'm really liking it too, especially how much less of the truck needs to be waxed now. :D
