Bought The Superlift

I finally ordered the Superlift 6" suspension lift for my Denali. After looking at a lot of very high quality kits, I ended up with the following finalists:

CST

BDS

Superlift

I liked the CST because it has no reported Stabilitrac issues, but it did not include new front shocks. I felt I needed different, correctly valved shocks since I plan to run larger (heavier) tires and therefore the added weight might overcome the stock Denali struts. Plus it only provided a modest 4" lift

I also liked the BDS, and it was the runner up. But because it only offered one shock selection, the BDS units, and because I could not confirm whether or not it reduced turning radius, it was barely eeked out of 1st place by the Superlift suspension.

I chose the Superlift, because you just can't find any bad info on their products. They offer a standard shock, a Bilstien unit (which I chose) and a remote resevoir unit which I felt would have wasted precious $$$ considering the truck will be a road driver 99.5% of the time.

Shopping around I found the kit at 4Wheel Parts for $1685 delivered, which is more than fair for such a quality suspension.

I get back to the States in a little over a week, and can't wait to get my hands dirty on something other than Afghan sand!

Awesome! I'm guessing you're doing the install yourself? If so, take lots of pictures for us. Of course we'll need some shots of the truck when it's done, too.

BDS kits come with their standard hydraulic shocks but they do offer the shock upgrade to the stainless steel gas shocks for the rear. Nice choice going with the SuperLift though, they are a nice kit from what I've been told.

No worries, I'll document the install well. I normally do that, you could cruise over to hummerXclub.com and see the threads I've done there with pics for each step befores and afters and so forth. Give it a couple weeks, though, I'm still a week out from breathing US air! And, yes, I'm definately doing it all myself

Didn't know that. I called BDS twice, and no mention of a better shock. Not that the BDS shocks are bad, they're not, I had them on my Tundra at one point before I did the SAS, and they rode just fine. The only issue I have with them and the also good Rnacho 5000's is that the body will eventually chip and rust. THe zinc on the Bilstien is a self sacrificing metal which actually "heals" damaged areas by migrating! The Superlift/Bilstien shocks are not only zinc coated, but then clear coated overtop the zinc. I have them on my Hummer and they hold up well. In any event BDS is just as good!
