Fiberglass Lid Storage

Recommended Posts

Posted

Just bought a Sierra, it came with a nice fiberglass lid, but I want to remove that for the time being. I am not too sure on any special way of storing(flat, on side....etc). Any hints. I would like to place leaning on the wall in my garage for now but I have a feeling that you have to keep them flat.

Thanks

My next door neighbor has two hooks on the garage wall that he hangs his flat against the wall on. It works well.

Why do I know this?

He always comes and gets me anytime he wants to remove it or put it back on. It's OK though... he pays up in Shiner Bock and is a pretty good guy.

thanks for the really quick reply....haha

do you know if i can rest it on the side?

Is it a SnugLid? If not what brand?

Most I've seen could be stored on their side without damage. Post a pic if you can.

Well right off it's a Leonard fiberglass with the hydraulic lifts. I don't have pic right off hand and that may take a while since I just dropped mine in the river while fly fishing...so.... sorry don't really know too much about lids.

thanks for the replies though, you've pretty much confirmed what i've heard

thanks

From your description, you should have zero problems storing it on its side. Fiberglass covers are pretty tough. (as long as they don't get blown over)

Good luck!
