Afe Intake Installed

Recommended Posts

So I bought me an AFE Stage 2 intake. It comes with the classic Blue filter (5 layer). Got time to install it today, and it went in pretty smooth. Took it for a drive and it sounds stock during normal driving, but obviously it gets lound when you punch it or give it any significant gas. I'm happy so far. Yes I know I need to clean the engine bay.

look nice..but did it improve your MPG / Horses etc ?

Did you notice you removed that stock flex part of the Air Intake and your new one got nothing to flex...thats mean something going to break on long run.

i highly doubt it will break..

i think they use the flex in more than one truck and different vehicles its probably cheaper than molding plastic for everything..

The airbox is far from rigidly mounted.

I'm guessing the silicone couplers they use flex somewhat. As for the MPG, I'm not sure cause I haven't driven that far yet. If anything it will be a slight -/+ in MPG. Not expecting much. Next will be exhaust.
