2002 Envoy

2002 envoy with 76000 miles. Going down the highway and engine quits. Had numerous lights on dash. CEl, Security, and service brake system in DIC. Finally got it restarted and it ran fine to get home.

Got home and hooked Tech2 to it, and had a P0621 and U1000 code. Unhooked Tech2 and headed to the dealer and the Sevice 4-wd light came on. The vehicle seemed to run fine.

Left it with the dealer and he indicates the catalyic converter is plugged and they will replace it under the emissions warrenty. He also told me the transmisson control module needs to be replaced.

 

Does this sound right? I have a hard time believing the cat con is bad, but if they want to put a new one on, i'm not going to complain, but with the electrical problem, I think they are trying to fix symptoms and have not yet found the problem

 

Any advice?
