Suspension Lift On 2008 Silverado

Recommended Posts

I have just purchased a 2008 Z71 1500 Silverado with 11k miles. I would like to find out a few things...

I would like install a 4" lift and change the wheels and tires.

1. The truck is under the 36/36 warrenty, will adding a 4" tuff country lift void the warrenty?

2. What size tires should be used with a 4' lift?

3. The truck has tire pressure sensors on the wheels, can those be moved to aftermarket wheels and still work correctly? The lift requires a certian back spacing and the factory wheels can't be used.

4. Will the lift impact the stabilitrack system?

No, but if you have an issue, they have to prove the lift caused it.

2. What size tires should be used with a 4' lift?

I would use a 33x11.5, or a 33x12.50

3. The truck has tire pressure sensors on the wheels, can those be moved to aftermarket wheels and still work correctly? The lift requires a certian back spacing and the factory wheels can't be used.

Yes, they can be moved to the aftermarket wheels and work correctly. I was just quoted 20 per wheel from my local shop to swap them.

4. Will the lift impact the stabilitrack system?

No, the 4" lifts do not affect this. Just to be sure, which lift are you looking at?

Hello,

1. What brand would you recomend for a 4" lift?

2. What size of wheels and offset would you recomend?

I would recommend looking on Ebay for a new set of TPMS sensors then have them installed in the new aftermarket rims when getting your new tires that way you can swap wheels/tires back and forth for the winter/summer and not have to mess around with getting the sensors swapped twice a year. You can usually pick up the sensors on Ebay pretty cheap, also ask discount tire because I believe they sell aftermarket sensors that are compatible with GM.
