Opinion On Repaint

So it pooring down raining here in East Texas and I have nothing better to do than to ponder what I should do with concerns ofrepainting the doors on my 2007 truck... Now to bring you up to speed the doors were hit pryor to my ownership and painted, very badly, loooks like a kid with "a" can of Duplicolor...Now I haven't seen any custom paint work on the new trucks, but I'm really thinking I want to ghost something into the paint... Something that at a distance the truck still looks factory black, yet when you get close, you can see scallops or an 88 or something, don't know what yet. Yep I'm a Dale jr. fan but I do not know if I want to go that route.... I could just have the doors repainted back to factory, but I'm thinking if I'm gonna fix the doors , I need to take care of a few scratches and may be do a little upgrade.... What says you oh GM guru's????

GHOST FLAMES!

I love custom paint IF it isn't something over the top like one of those 80s forty color things. Subtle flames or gentle pearl clear coats are fun stuff. I'm not one that cares about warranty or OEM paint though... there are those inhere that think that OEM paint flows right out of some supreme being's ass.

I say go for it but stay away from NASCAR stuff. You'd have hell selling when the time comes.

Thats ok I have a Father that flows the OEM everything.... right down to his 59' 62 series convertible Caddy in red with the red and white leather enterior....He is the formost authority on why everything should remain just as Harley Earl made it....

I on the other hand can appreciate a flare for the custom. Now I don't care for the overly modified, I mean come on does the frame really need to be chromed or gold plated?

Ghost boobies! :smash:

Honestly, I'm not a fan of custom paint on otherwise pretty much stock trucks, and I've gotten over my love for flames, just see them on way too much stuff. Ghosted stuff can look really cool though, just make sure you put enough thought into what you want, and kudos on being different. :D

It may take me some time to come up with something to ghost into the paint. I was just telling a friend at lunch I wanted to do this, and these words came out of my mouth...."I want ghosted flames, or scallops in silver, no skulls or crossbone, can't be anti Christian yet I don't crosses and scripture either, it has to be classy, unseen at more than 50 feet." Wow I narrowed the window now I just got to see what fits... ohh and Ghost Boobies will not pass muster with the wife or our priest.
