Odd Squeak / Rattle

Alright this just started happening a week ago...

 

its in my drivers door or around it somewhere.. i took the whole door panel off and drove around and it was still there. i then opened the door while driving and it went away.. (you know how you can close the door but its not fully latched, thats how i had it) so i eliminated the door panel being the cause and it has to do with something only when the door is fully closed.

 

i looked at the seals but does the door really move around that much? i also looked at my friends truck and he has felt on a one of the seals that mine doesn't.

 

should i try putting something on the seals? i tried putting armor all on the seals to make them slipery but it is still there. i looked at all the plastic around the door and nothing seems to put hitting or rubbing..

 

should i go down to the dealer and buy some new seals? it is very annoying and almost constant unless the road is perfectly smooth.. or anybody have some ideas? Thanks AGAIN!!

Most manufacturers recommend treating weatherstripping with silicone grease every so often. Not the spray, mind you, but actual silicone grease. May want to give that a try.

btw i went to advanced auto today and couldn't find Silicone Grease

Try car quest, im a tech at a dealership and we use stuff called Shin-etsu grease. Its a silcone base grease but holds up to temp changes. Works very well, bit pricey but def worth it. Is it a metallic or plastic type rattle? It may be that something in the door latching mechanism is rattling one when closed.

well, when sitting in the passenger seat everybody says its coming from the dash but then i open the door and it goes away..

 

im not sure. when sitting in the drivers seat it sounds like its coming from down by the speaker area.. so im not sure.
