I messed up the front bumper on my '08 Silverado LT2. Nothing major at all, just very some minor dents in the chrome center section (just enough to be noticable and piss me off when I look at it). Instead of just replacing it with the OEM part, I thought I'd replace it with the updated '09 bumper if it fits w/o replacing the side parts too. Its my understanding that its the same bumper as the '07/'08 VMax's so I'd think it'd fit but I wanted to double check. Its not worth it to me if I have to replace more parts than what I damaged. If that were the case, I'd order an unpainted one and have it color matched like the LTZ's. Basically, I like the LTZ bumper and the '09 chrome bumper, but I'm not a big fan of mine. I think the hole would break up all the chrome and it'd look better. Plus, I'd be turning a stupid mistake into something positive. :lol: I pulled to far into a parking spot when I first got it and hit a stone wall. :cheers:

 

I tried searching several times but it keeps coming up with no results found...

Like I said, nothing major, it just irritates me. I'm not worried about the plastic piece on the bottom, when cleaned up and protected its not noticeable.

Yep,Its the same bumper...Part#15941850,This is also the same bumper as the HD's have.

i like the look of the color matched bumper of the ltz trucks and was wondering if you can order one already painted from the factory? part number?

Nope,Can't get one already painted,Its a "paint-to-match" part.

i need to replace my bumper as well!!!! similar thing. That part says on the gmparts page that it is the right left corners???

 

What is a good price on this???

 

Anyone no where to pick up a used one???

Thanks a lot. :D What's a fair price to pay? I'm used to paying cost plus 10%, but we don't have a GM store in our dealership group. :lol:

Lol, no. I'll admit that it was my fault. :P It took me a while to find out how far up I can pull the front of this truck. It'd been a while since I had a full-sized, you can't see the front of it, and the spots I used to have to park in were really small and the back hung way out if I didn't pull in far enough.

I don't see why you couldn't. All the '09's have the same bumper just some are painted and some are chrome.

IDK, I like the painted look a little better, but I was thinking that the chrome probably holds up a little better over time. I can get it color matched for pretty cheap though...

Man I'd almost chalk that up to a battle scar. Seriously though, before spending the money on a new one, I would try and go after it with a ball peen hammer to knock the dents out and hit the chrome with a mother's powerball and some polish. It's worth a shot if you don't have your heart set on a painted bumper.

 

However, if the chrome is chipped you'll have a nice rust spot there come springtime.

 

EDIT: I'd pull the bumper off before pounding on it; wouldn't want to make an airbag mad.

I'd keep my eye on flea-bay, plenty of people swapping out the stock bumpers for colormatched/aftermarket ones and will be selling the OEM ones.

If I liked the stock front bumper that's what I'd do. I'm pretty sure I could pull the bumper off and work with it an make it pretty much unnoticeable. It has some scrapes in the chrome, but its not chipped. I did it back in Feb so it would have probably started rusting by now if it was going to rust. Plus, I live in GA so no road salt.

      Thanks; I looked there a few minutes, and I think I can find something. I really never looked there, as I thought it was stuff like PTO/aftermarket bodies/accessories like snow plows.

      This is a 1/2 ton thing ONLY.  All HDs 2020-2026 have the two speed transfer case, with Autotrac as an option.     1/2 tons 2019-2026, regular 4x4s come with a single speed case (no 4LO!), and trucks with Z71 ordered, or all Trail Boss trucks come with the 2 speed case.  2 speed case is also an option on WT, and is also standard on High Country.

      2013 5.3 still to this day calls for the PF48 filter.  Which as a 15psi bypass pressure.     There is a TSB, 17-NA-157 that talks about the PF-63 and PF-64 filters which have a higher bypass rating of 22psi.    TSB HERE - temp.xml   "Beginning in 2012, the oil pumps began to regulate main gallery feedback instead of pump out pressure. This means that the oil pump now does not begin to regulate until pressure is built up to the main gallery. This change reduces the amount of time it takes to provide oil to the engine bearing and lifters during extreme cold start conditions.  Main gallery feedback oil pump control systems are present on the following engine families which use Spin-on oil filters: Small Gas Engine (SGE), Large Gas Engine (LGE), High Feature (HFV6) Gen2 and Small Block Gen5 gasoline engines. These engines with the main gallery feedback oil pump control systems are factory built with an ACDelco® oil filters"   It also calls out what engines use those filters.  The gen 4 small blocks were not on that list (LMG, LC9, L9H, L92, L94, L20, L96).  Gen 5 small blocks use the higher pressure filter.          That all said...   Your 7045 Napa filter is the PF63 equivalent, with 22psi bypass.  You are already using the higher bypass pressure filter.  You CAN keep using it, you don't technically have to use it though.

      Do you know WHY the filter relief setting was increased to 22 psig?    When the new system goes into the second stage the pump volume ramps up considerably. It was found that the 15 psi filter bypass setting put the filter in bypass on a warm engine when the second stage was activated. Raising the filter bypass setting forced the filter to do what it designed to do. Filter. Preventing debris from circulating during high load, high rpm operation.    So next question is how did GM find this out? VLOM/lifter failures and a deep dive by Melling Corp.    Last question. Is it required? Look at it like this; a motor may be equipped with a rev limiter. But it only works if the set point in reached. That 22 psig setting only matters if the pressure differential across the filter media exceeds 15 psig during normal warm operation. Second stage kicks in around 3000-3500 rpm.    I can't answer your question because I don't know you and how you use the truck. But I think there is enough information here to let you decide for yourself. 😉
