Towing Qustion

my father got stuck with his 97 dodge carvan do you think my 88 c 1500 short bed v6 can tow this thing like maybe 30 miles with a tow dolly or would it be pushing it? for truck few locals i know said the truck cant do it

I would think so.

From what I can find on the internet, tow rating for that vechicle is around 5000-6000 lbs, depending on the gear ration.

And the dodge caravan isn't going to wieght that much.

My opinion only of-course. ;)

I bet you could just fine, so go out and prove them wrong. The only thing I'd be wary of are steep hills, be even then, you could always shift down and hold it in gear.

I know you can pull it, I would be more worried about stopping it. Does the tow dolly have its own brakes?
