Headroom / Seat Question

Hi,

 

I have an 2008 suburban w/sunroof and the headroom is annoying me. A couple of questions to ya'all:

 

- Anyone add headroom by thinning the cushion/pad and/or lowering frame to add an inch or two?

 

- I have heard the tahoe hybrid seats are thinner. Do they add headroom?

 

- Any other ideas?

Head room is a big problem for me. I always felt like I needed a truck because I wouldn't fit in anything else. I'm 6'9" and my head is a little too close to the headliner of my 08 Silverado without the sunroof. If I sit up completely straight my head is in the liner. I'm looking into lowering the driver's seat, but I don't have power seats. I'll let you know if I come up with a good way to do it, in the meantime good luck with your search and let me know if you find something helpful

wow iv never been so happy to be 5'11. i bet you could take it to an upholsterer and have him take out some padding, and replace it with something thinner... i would contact your local upholstery shop and see if they've come across this before.. i can't imagine that making more than half an inch difference though... just my .02
