Key Won't Unlock Door

hello, my battery just recently died and i came to find out my key doesn't unlock my door. ive always used my remote to unlock the doors. neither keys that came with the truck will unlock the door. the truck is an 04 silverado 1500. does anyone know what i could do without having to go to the dealer and spend a shitload of money?

Any way to pop the hood change battery?Are you locked out? Call a lock Smith! But will still be $$$..

i can unlock my truck without keys in under 20 seconds.. (i actually did a demonstration speech at school this year and showed how to do it)

 

i did my bosses 03 in about 30 seconds.. GM trucks are REALLY easy to unlock.. but you need the right tools..

we use the tools in all our wreckers so i am pretty good with them... its just a set of lockout tools no idea where you buy them though..

 

the tool looks like this: its pretty much a big solid peice of wire about a 1/8 inch around pretty thick....

If you have never/seldom used the key... there may be nothing wrong except the lock is kinda seized up. Try spraying WD-40 or some GOOD penetrating oil in the little opening where the key goes in.

 

Then work the key in and out of the lock 20 times or so, occasionally trying to turn it.

From the looks of your picture of the truck with all the mud on it. I would go with wd40 the lock and play with it and see if you can get it to turn.
