Whats The Difference ?

I looked at Gm parts direct and there are two different ones 1st design and 2nd design with two different types W/digital audio, W/o digital audio . I don't have a clue at which one to get and I had to look under 07 instead of 08

Digital audio is XM,So if you have XM you have digital audio (Which I think you do,if I remember correctly from running your VIN)

If its an 08, you have XM. It is a standard feature in all 08s.

Well.......Not really,You can order XM delete,Although this is mainly for fleet orders.

can anybody tell me if that sharkfin can be a) used on a GMT800 and b) can it receive the sirius signal (or does that even matter with the merger)?

Actually Mike they used the "sharkfin" style antenna starting on the '06 GMT800 trucks.

 

I can't answer your other question,although "I think" there is a kit out where it can receive Sirius.

I'm not sure how different Sirius really is from XM anymore because most of my channels seem like they are shared.
