4 Wheel Drive Quit Today On A 2008 1500 Silverado

today my 4 wheel drive quit on my new 2008 1500 Silverado with the 6.0 Max and HD trans.A light on the dash says SERVICE 4 WHEEL DRIVE. I stopped at a dealer and a young mechanic pulled out a fuse under the hood ( large pink square one, waited a few seconds, replaced it and the light went out. Awhile later the light came back on and no 4 wheel drive again. Anyone help me out on this? I had heard that there may be a recall of something in the transfer case is not working correctly. Its an electronic operated 4 wheel drive switch. Thanks.

There is a TSB out on bad 4x4 switches...the switch mounted in the dash.

 

The Tech should have looked for bulletins...and fixed it right the first time.

Stealth, I assume that this is only for NBS '07 and up trucks, as they different type 4WD switch.

This also happened on my truck ('04 2500HD). It turned out the 4X4 vent hose was pinched closed. The hose on my truck is routed up by the left front upper control arm. Since that was repaired it has been fine.
