NO.

2500 only came with 6.0 no other options. (5.7 old old body style)

 

2500HD came with 6.0 standard, with the 8.1 and d-max as options.

 

Is the 8.1 still available on the new trucks. (08s)

Hate to call it but BS!!!!!!!!!!in 1999 you could get the 5.3 in a 2500. When i bought mine the dealer had another one that they tried to sell me. It had the leather in it which was a deal killer to me. I don't remember what was on it but I do remember it. I thought why would you want a 2500 with the 5.3 in it.

I guess a year would be important. Also is the question about a 2500HD(title) or 2500.

I think 99 was the change over year when the Light Duty trucks had a new body style and the HD trucks still had the old style.

Pre 99 2500s came with a 5.0.

What year did they stop offering the 5.3?

last thing this bitch did was that the radiator blasted from the inside .... i went to buy a new one

 

and it was for 1300$..thats U.S. dollars....so i called my father to ask him to send me some money and he said

 

" get out of Bentley's and fabricat a new one at any radiator workshop"

 

and i did for a 115$ they even gave me a waranty for 6 months

I wonder... I have a "Texas Edition", 2008 Sierra and 5.3L V-8. It is not 4-WD. The descriptor has this:

The truck sits up as high as a Z-71 or 2500. Kind of a maverick in the design, but I like it.

Tell him to check his RPO codes in the glove box...The air box isn't always right, as on my 2500hd short bed the gas thing said "34 gallons" even though I've never gotten 24 in from about dead empty?

According to the AC Delco parts look up site the 2500 could have the 5.3L engine in 1999 and 2000 model years, the 5.3L and 6.0 were the only engines available. In 2001 the reg 2500 and the HD2500 (1st yr for HD) came with the 6.0L as base.
