Z_71_steve Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 hey guys, well like the title says, i've been contemplating getting a new truck for a while now, i love my 04 she just turned 97k miles yesterday... anyways i found decent deal $19,990 for a 07 gmc sierra with 30k miles, cloth interior, steering wheel controls, z71, rail boxes, pretty clean... sound or look like a decent deal? should i make an offer... whats a fair price in your eyes... thanks in advance to all! steve
wlvrn1215 Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 never mind....I mis read post... seems like a decent deal for a crew cab
Porter_ Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 15K miles per year doesn't seem too bad to me. i put more than that on my vehicles. as far as price goes i usually go to kbb and nada and then average the two. then look around at other similar trucks for sale locally to get an idea of the local market value. truck looks clean from the pics you posted. if it were me, and assuming research proved the asking price to be fair, i'd shoot from the hip and offer $17,500 and see where it goes from there.
Porter_ Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 a lot of miles.. warranty runs out in 3000k. I'd go lower in price. get em' down i think you're looking at the miles on his current truck.
Z_71_steve Posted January 15, 2009 Author Posted January 15, 2009 ahh thats true... now will gm honor their 100,000k mile warrenty if the vehicle isnt sold from a gm dealership?
66nova Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Seems like an ok deal. If you can get them down a couple thousand more then it would be a good deal. I have seen brand new 08's going for just a couple thousand more. But if you are happy with it, go for it.

FWIW, in my neck of the woods this is a screaming deal. similar trucks are going for $25K+ up here in WA.

It could be an awesome deal where you are at. It's definitely a good looking ride. I like the silver or silver birch. Can't tell on my screen.
Z_71_steve Posted January 15, 2009 Author Posted January 15, 2009 southern suburbs of chicago, about 35 miles south of where the truck is located, thats why i'm trying to get some details before i go up and take a look, 60423 zip
bubba33 Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 The 100,000 mile warranty goes with the truck.
USMCPayne Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 I bought my Loaded '07 TX Edition Silverado with 20k miles on it for $17.5k and it came with brand new tires. I looked at new '08 TX Editions with the same packages and they were $23-25k. I think $19.9k is too high for an '07 w/ 30k miles on it when you can get a brand new truck for a few thousand more with 0 miles on it. But that could also have to do with where you are.
music Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 I bought my Loaded '07 TX Edition Silverado with 20k miles on it for $17.5k... Isn't the "Texas Edition" 2wd? He's also looking at a CrewCab. A Z71 4wd adds ~$4k on the used market in northern states. With gas prices low, the truck won't last long at $20k (IMHO).
