I actually had ice on my window this morning and my truck does a good job of warming up with the remote start so that by the time that I get in it the ice is melted and truck is warm...

But yesterday I didnt have anywhere to go in the morning and my neighbor swears by this stuff so I sprayed some on my windshield when I was out to get the paper and that stuff was melted after like 3-4 steps...

I think its good to like almost -50

Thought that I would share this with you... Of course for those that have snow on there windows they might want to clear that first!!!

I've used similar products in the past, does work well on frost/etc. But thick ice, you'll use a lot of it.

I'm glad GM finally got the part in for the heated windshield washer fluid....that works well too.

You should try spraying it on an ice cube and see how it takes to melt.

That would be a good way to experiment with it...

Yeah I am sure that this product is more useful to the more southerners cause we only get thick ice if we get a ice storm!!! Havent had one in a year or 2...

I've used similar stuff. It works well on frost/light ice. Don't even bother if it's anything real significant that actually requires real scraping effort(not just running the blade across the glass). I've still got some though, I use it when I can.

Thanks for chiming in!!! You saved me from getting up on the crutches and trying it on a ice cube!!!

I just keep a gallon of regular de-icing windshield wash fluid under my back seat. Whenever my windshield is iced up, I just pour that on the windshield and run my wipers 2 or 3 times and the ice is gone. It's cheaper, too but it does take up more space in the truck.

Talk about lazy!!! What ever happened to good old fashion scraping your windows with a scraper?????? Ssshhheeesshhhh!!! Let's just add another chemical to the environment why don't we. Not like mother earth needs it with global warming and all.

OK, you all know I'm just kidding right? Us down south could really use that, save time and get us on the road faster and safer with cleared windows. One disadvantage to being in a warm belt area is it isn't stocked on the local store shelf like it might be up in the Great White North.
